Katsina State Government under Governor Aminu Bello Masari’s restoration agenda in the education sector has partnered with a non-governmental organization, Pleasant Library and Book Club (PLBC) led by its President, Engr. Muttaqha Rabe Darma to train over 32,000 primary and secondary school teachers.
This was disclosed to newsmen by the Katsina State Head of Service, Alhaji Idris Tune during the inauguration of the state’s monitoring committee that will monitor the training activities of the NGO and ensure it’s smooth running within the framework of the state civil service establishment.

According to the State Head of Service, the composition of the committee and its subsequent inauguration was a fallout of a proposal submitted to the Governor my the Pleasant Library and Book Club seeking to train all the Katsina State school teachers in order to reform and equip them with the current trend of knowledge for effective service delivery.
“The training will cost the state Government N158,798,560 and it will be carried out in four batches of one year and the governor had already given the approval for the release of the money for the batch,” he said.
Mr Tune also said that the government is optimistic that the training will catalyze the required reforms in the overall educational system in the state.
While responding on behalf of the monitoring committee, the chairman of the committee and also the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education, Hajiya Halima Othman thanked the Governor for finding them worthy of the nomination and promised to work and deliver on their terms of reference.
