The Proprietor of Nobel Kids Academy and North West Preparatory School, Abdulmalik Tanko, has been sentenced to death by hanging by a High Court sitting in Kano for masterminding the kidnap and killing of a five-year-old pupil, Little Hanifa Abubakar.
This much was revealed in the judgment delivered by Justice Usman Na’abba, on Thursday, July 28, 2022.
The State Online reports that Hanifa was abducted on December 4, 2021, on her way home from Islamiyya Scool and thereafter killed by the convict, who is her teacher and school proprietor, after delay in getting the N6m ransom he demanded from the pupil’s parents and guardians.
The incident which led to public outcry around the country, resulted in President Muhammadu Buhari issuing directive for prosecution to ensure a good work was done to secure justice for the little kid, thus upholding the integrity of the judiciary, while wishing her soul rest in perfect peace.
On account of this and the general sympathy developed, the Kano State Government revoked the school’s licence, and threatened to withdraw the licences of all private schools due for revalidation, while joining its voice to ensure justice for the innocent girl./SHARE THIS
