The Board of Directors of KAFTAN TV has appointed Abduwaheed Odusile as the outfit’s new Chief Executive Officer, CEO.
With an impressive track record in strategic leadership and operational excellence, Odusile is poised to play a pivotal role in steering KAFTAN TV to new heights.
The Board of Directors said it has given the new CEO full autonomy to set up new management team and reorganise the company in a way that satisfies his professional needs.
With a wealth of print and broadcast media experience spanning well over four decades, he brings a unique blend of vision and execution to the KAFTAN TV team.
As CEO, Mr. Odusile will head the new management team and assume full responsibility for corporate performance, profitability strategy and company’s growth.
The appointment takes effect from March 11, 2024.
Until recently, Odusile served as the Ogun State Commissioner for Information and Strategy from 2020 – 2023. He parades over 40 years of national and international experience as a media manager. He was President of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, from 2015 to 2018.
Between 2016 and 2019, Odusile was President of the Federation of African Journalists, FAJ.
A renowned journalist and accomplished manager, the new KAFTAN TV Chief Executive Officer (CEO) has held various newsroom management positions, including being the pioneer
Editor of National Life Newspaper and Managing Editor of The Nation.
He was also at different times on the staff of National Concord and ThisDay Newspapers.
A researcher and resource person in media, he has many publications among which are “Media Ethics and Promotion of Democratic Culture in Nigeria,” “The Media, Socio-Cultural and Political Integration”, “Thoughts on Media Policy” among many others.
He holds a Masters Degree in Legal Studies and belongs to a number of professional associations, including Nigerian Guild of Editors, International Federation of Journalists (IFJ), Federation of African Journalists (FAJ), West African Journalists Association (WAJA) and the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ).
