A Lagos commuter bus, this morning, Monday, September 15, lost control and rammed into a scheduled passenger train in PWD area of the state, injuring many of the passengers.
Although the accident which happened at the PWD level crossing, Oshodi, did not record any loss of life, it was a hell of pandemonium as by-standers ran helter skelter for safety, akin to a scene of a horror movie, even as the train dragged the bus for a few distance.

The Director-General of Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), Dr Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, who confirmed the incident, said the bus just veered off the road and rammed into the scheduled, slowly moving train.
Oke-Osanyintolu said, “A passenger motor, GGE 972 GE, had veered onto the train tracks while crossing the rail at PWD inward Oshodi and subsequently collided with a scheduled commuter train, and was then dragged along for a stretch of the journey before the train managed to come to a complete halt. The agency was able to successfully extricate the passengers and note that there was no loss of life. Injured passengers have been provided with on-site medical care and discharged thereafter.
“Members of the public, especially drivers of commuter buses, are reminded to obey traffic regulations to prevent injuries and transport delays,” he added, stressing that “the wreckage of the bus has been safely removed to allow for a free flow of commuter traffic.”
