A Federal High Court, in Abuja has dismissed the case of certificate forgery filed against the Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, by the All Progressives Congress, stating that APC had nothing to prove against the governor.
Justice Ahmed Mohammed who gave the ruling, emphasized that the APC’s guts to drag the governor to court amounts to nullity and a waste of the court’s precious time. Although he was lenient not to award cost against the plaintiffs.
Essentially, Justice Mohammed held that the All Progressives Congress (APC) and one of its members, Edobor Williams, failed in entirety to prove their claim that Obaseki forged the academic certificates that he submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) before the last governorship election in the state.
Following this, the Barrister Razak, the People’s Democratic Party counsel said it has been proven that”evil will never triumph over good as they cannot, by way of credible evidence, discharge the burden of proof placed on them by the law.” /SHARE THIS
