Dr Benjamin therefore urged Nigerians, particularly candidates, to disregard any cut-off marks being circulated by “fraudsters,” describing it as “fake.”
He said this year’s cut – off marks would be decided at a stakeholders policy meeting that would be chaired by the Minister of Education, Malam Adamu Adamu.
The spokesperson said the board has fixed the policy meeting for June 15th and 16th 2020.
According to him,“Kindly disregard any cut off marks paraded by fraudsters. It is fake news.
“Cut off marks are decided at a policy meeting chaired by the Hon Minister of Education with all heads of tertiary institutions, CEOs of regulatory agencies in education and all other critical stakeholders in attendance.
“This meeting has been fixed for June 15th and 16th 2020 if all things being equal.
“Until this meeting is held no body can talk about cut off mark. Nigerians are advised to disregard any such marks being paraded.”
Meanwhile, JAMB says it has reinforced its CAPS Mobile App and candidates can now access all their admission-related issues in the comfort of their homes without visiting any Computer Based Test (CBT) centre of cybercafé.
“Candidates are advised to take advantage of this Mobile App to check their admissions status as JAMB staff are working from home to ensure that the public is adequately served and all processes are active,”, the Board announced in the latest edition of JAMBulleting made available to The State Online on Sunday by Dr Fabian Benjamin.
The statement reads:
“This is to inform all candidates that the Board has reinforced its CAPS mobile Tapp to enable them access the Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS) for all their admission-related issues in the comfort of their homes without visiting any CBT centre or cybercafe. All they need to do would be to simply download the JAMB CAPS Mobile App onto their phones. This development is coming in the wake of some institutions which are about to round off their admissions processes.
“Consequently, candidates who are still expecting 2019 admissions from such institutions need not visit any CBT centre or cybercafe to check their admissions status for necessary action. Candidates are to login to the JAMB CAPS Mobile with the phone number they had used for the UTME registration. After login, the candidate will then key in his Registration Number and click on ENTER to get started. A verification process would be carried out on t he provided information and if successful, an OTP code would be sent to the provided mobile number. The candidate is to enter the OTP code and click on VERIFY to complete the verification exercise.
“Upon the completion of verification, the candidate would be taken to the requisite admission page which has his/her admissions information to: accept or reject the admissions offer, accept or rejec t transfer consideration by institutions if any, as well as accept or reject market place consideration by institutions. In addition, the candidate will also see his/her O’level results and other biodata.
“If candidates accept their offers of admission, they are to proceed to register online for the requisite academic session in their institutions of choice. Candidates are advised to take advantage of this Mobile App to check their admissions status as JAMB staff are working from home to ensure that the public is adequately served and all processes are active.”
