In a statement signed on behalf of the Staff of the Ministry and those of its Agencies, Nwajiuba said, “This is our collective grief, our dear mother has left us. The best we can do now and for the rest of our lives is to continue to work and live together as brothers.”

“Education Correspondents led by NTA’s Abdullahi Suleja similarly expressed their grief, praying Allah to grant Mama Adamu eternal rest and the family the fortitude to bear the loss.
“The Hon. Minister, in his reaction expressed appreciation to all and sundry, who in spite of the lockdown and the Ramadan, were prepared to visit to pay their respects to the family of the departed soul. Also, the Hon. Minister, while appreciating the concerns and sympathy of many stated that, in adherence to the prevailing lockdown directive issued by the President, sympathisers could write to pay their respects or offer prayers for the safe repose of the soul of his mother anywhere they are.
“Furthermore, Mall. Adamu pleasantly observed that well-wishers in adhering to his call for written condolences, have inundated his phone with messages, the volume of which could only be assessed by the huge revenue accruing to the Telcos!
“Among those who wrote was the Chairman, JAMB Governing Board, Dr. Emmanuel Ndukwe. In his letter, Dr. Ndukwe prayed for the repose of Madam Adamu. Mama Fatima Adamu had since been laid to rest according to Islamic injunctions.”
