The National Industrial Court, NIC, has ordered the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, to end its current strike and resume classes.
In a judgment on the Nigerian government’s interlocutory injunction, Justice Polycarp Hamman stopped ASUU from continuing with the strike until the case was resolved.

Justice Polycap, who was on vacation, issued an order directing the NIC president to reassign the case to a different judge.
This ruling was issued shortly after the National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS, threatened to prevent political campaigns from taking place nationwide until public university students returned to their classes.
The Academic Staff Union of Universities has been on strike since February 14, 2022 as talks between it and the Federal Government have not yielded a compromise upon which students can return to class.
