IMPOSTORS IN BORNO PDP: AN OPEN LETTER TO HIS EXCELLENCY ALHAJI ATIKU ABUBAKAR AND UCHE SECONDUS, PDP NATIONAL CHAIRMAN

By Alhaji Usman Badeiri

Valid State Chairman of PDP, Borno State
On behalf of all real PDP members in Borno.
I am constrained to make this an open letter for the fact that, the current chaotic situation of the PDP in Borno state and consequent possible outcome dictate that I should, before the door closes on our great party in Borno state, alert you of the danger that may be lurking in the corner.
Sir,  it is an established fact that your emergence as the flag bearer of our great party under the supervision of our national chairman Uche Secondus was an epitome of  transparency  and open process, which is the main reason we are confident  that you will not condone any illegality which may ridicule our party, the PDP. Hence the party  crisis in Borno state will be given due consideration and be put to rest once and for all.
Sir, may I bring to your notice that Borno which is a crucial and pivotal state that can, to a large extent determine the ultimate winner in this coming presidential election, is in a state of quagmire and disarray. Your excellency sir, it is of great importance yourself and the national chairman Uche Secondus should step up and look into this matter critically as it affect our great party, the PDP.
Similarly, Intra-party divisions certainly have the potential to cause parties to lose votes. It is a well known fact that parties whose leaders openly fight are left with electoral harms.  Voters are left with the impression of division which of course means dysfunctionalism, and an inability to focus on the important problems of the day. In short, it does not look good to voters when a party’s leadership are at odds with each other, in view of this, our supporters are beginning to question our credibility and our movement of changing the change. We are at the verge of loosing Borno state if I  may say so.
Be that as it may, the most important thing that should be at the back of every progressive Nigerian’s mind is how to free Nigerians from the economic turmoil and other hardships APC has brought to Nigerians. And, the only way for the PDP to achieve such in Borno state, is to be under one umbrella.
Sirs, you may be aware that some illegally constituted persons, led by one of our new entrants with the name Zanna Gaddama Mustapha has been parading themselves as the state executives of the PDP in Borno state for the February and March 2019 governorship, Senate, house of Representatives and state house of assembly elections, despite judgements by the federal high court and the appeal court which  recognized Alhaji Usman Badeiri as the validly elected chairman of the party.  total disregard for court rulings is not a good thing for democracy and indeed our great party, especially this time of heated political atmosphere.
However, We are  using this medium to call on the chairman of our great party, Uche Secondus, as a matter of urgency intervene in the internal crisis bedevilling the party to protect it’s chances in the 2019 elections in Borno state. We are certain that if the disputes is not  settled in due course could endanger the party’s chances in the state come February and March 2019 elections.
With all due sense of responsibility and modesty, the slogan of “”change the change ” is no where near attainable in Borno state, if both the National chairman and flag bearer of our great party pretend as though all is well in Borno state when in reality it is not. Some miscreants, with the mission of destroying the party stepped forward illegally to claim leadership against  court order which is a setback in all ramifications.
It is only when the party is harmonized and  the leadership of the party given to whom is legally and validly recognized by the law, commotion will be the order of the day thereby diminishing our great party’s reputation. Our sole purpose of writing this letter is  to call for a unify PDP in Borno state, through legitimate means and not  disunion, only then shall we actualize our dreams of changing the change for the betterment of our people and get Nigeria working again.
