Sunday Adeyemo popularly called Sunday Igboho who escaped death by the whiskers three days ago when operatives of the Department of State, DSS, stormed his Soka residence in Ibadan, was absent today at the rally organised by agitators for Yoruba nation in Lagos.
Igboho who sent out words in a viral clip that he was hale and hearty and that the Yoruba rally would hold could not make it to the venue.
Igboho, who spoke in Yoruba language, said he was still at his house in Ibadan.
His words: “Good evening my fans. I thank you all. My name is Sunday Igboho and today is July 2 , 2021. I have been hearing that they have arrested me at Guru Maharaj Ji. It is a lie. I was not at Guru Maharaj Ji. I am in my house in Ibadan and nobody arrested me.”
Despite his absence, thousands of Yoruba nation agitators defied the heavy presence of security operatives and held a peaceful rally at the Gani Fawehinmi Park in Ojota, Lagos.
Decked in cultural regalia synonymous with African traditional religion, they called for the exit of the South-West geopolitical zone from Nigeria.
They were not deterred by the heavy presence of security operatives at the venue. Men of the Nigeria Police Force, Nigerian Army, and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps and Department of State Services were stationed at the Park with scores of patrol vans, heavy anti-riot gun trucks and Black Marias.
Although the rally was peaceful, a teenager was killed by stray bullets when security operatives tried to disperse the agitators.
