Unknown gunmen have killed a policeman in Imo State, cutting off his manhood after the incident.

The incident occurred at  Okpo-Efi junction on Agwa Ejemekwuru Road in Oguta Local Government Area of Imo State, with the deceased’s colleagues going on rampage and retaliating the brutal murder with the reprisal that led to the mowing down of two gunmen at a checkpoint in Oguta on Tuesday.

The slain police officer, Ukam Efut, was serving at Agwa Police Division when he met his gruesome death while on patrol with two of his colleagues who also sustained injuries.

Confirming the incident, on Wednesday, the police spokesman in the state, CSP Mike Abattam, said policemen arrived the spot of the attack immediately and engaged the gunmen in a duel, killing two of them, while others escaped, adding that his men were already on their trail.

Abattam also confirmed a bomb blast in the early hours of Wednesday at an oil company in Izombe, Oguta LGA of the state, informing that the explosion occurred at a facility operated by Addax Petroleum Development Nigeria Limited, adding that the command had already deployed a squad from its anti-bomb unit to the area to prevent breakdown of law and order.

A witness who spoke to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on point of  anonymity, said that two persons died in the explosion./SHARE THIS
