Bakare who said he would be running on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC),  disclosed this on Saturday during a virtual programme, “Unveiling Project 16 to Nigerians in Diaspora”,  with the theme The Portrait of  a New Nigeria, organized by PTB4Nigeria in Diaspora group, monitored in Abuja.

“The APC, which I played enormous role in forming, will definitely be my political platform,” he said.

“By God’s grace, as we have been meeting together with friends and leaders in our nation in the past few years, it is looking much more like we will definitely be in the fore front of the battle for the salvation of our nation in 2023. If you are asking me a direct question, a direct answer will be yes.

“And if you are asking for what party? It was my privilege to move the motion for the emergence of APC, the motion for the merger of CPC, ACN and ANPP on February 6 2013. I have never been part of any other party apart from that and by God’s grace that will be the party that I will seek opportunity to serve and to lead my nation,” he said.

Continuing, he said: “The PTB brand is a rallying point for all Nigerians. I have a vision of a new Nigeria and I will play a leading role as we approach the Nigeria of our dreams,” noting that, as south is being set against the north, and Christians against Muslims,” he remains the rallying point to restore peace and order in the country.

When asked about his running mate in this proposal, Bakare said the incumbent Governor of Kaduna State, Mallam Nasir el-Rufai, will, definitely, not be a bad idea./SHARE THIS
