A group which goes by the name Daura Zone is Next (2023) has for the Daura Zone to produced the next Katsina State Governor in the upcoming 2023 general elections.
In the write-up signed by the group Chairman, Ahmed Ahidjo Sani Wali and Secretary, Sada Sanusi Bujawa titled “2023: Daura Senatorial District And The Quest For Katsina State Governorship Position”, they listed seven reasons they felt the zone deserved to produced the next Governor of the state.
They decried the fact that the zone had not produced either Governor or Deputy Governor since the state was created in 1987.
Among the reasons cited by the group in favor of the zone to produce the next Katsina State Governor in 2023 are being the zone with the highest number of Local Governments in the state and highest voters turnout in the just concluded general elections.
The group also argued on spirit of zoning policy which they said has been adopted by politicians both at the Federal and state level in many states of the federation.
