Governor of Osun State, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola has approved the appointment of Alhaji Buniyamin Aderemi Omowabi as Head of the 2019 Hajj Operation for the state.
The appointment was conveyed in a letter dated 28 June, 2019 and signed by Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs.
The letter said the appointment was based on Alhaji Buniyamin Aderemi Omowabi’s “track record and perceived inherent ability to organise smooth Hajj operation for Muslims in the State of Osun and beyond.”
It added that “It is therefore hoped that your new appointment would be seen as a call to serve the people and not betray the confidence reposed in you by the State Government. Your main assignment is to manage this year 2019 Hajj Operation and ensure a successful hitch free excercise by performing the following duties:
(I) Responsible for the Passport/Visa processing and Airlifting of Pilgrims
(ii) Responsible for allocation of rooms to Pilgrims in Makkah and Medina.
(iii) Responsible for the movement of Pilgrims from one location to the other in Nigeria and Saudi Arabia.”
The new appointee is a graduate of Marketing from the Polytechnic Ibadan. He is also a Masters of Science degree (Msc) holder from the prestigious University of Ibadan.
Before the appointment, he was the MD/CEO, Trenchant International travel and tours.
He was also, the former coordinator for Osun state chapter of National Association of air travel agency of Nigeria ( *NANTA* )
He has been actively involved in the operations of Hajj & Umrah services for almost a decade.
Alhaji Buniyamin Aderemi Omowabi is a member of many Muslim organizations, including The Companion.
