There was a mild drama at the inauguration of Prof Chukwuma Soludo on Thursday as the new Anambra State Governor, when the wife of the outgoing governor and First Lady, Mrs Ebelechukwu Obiano, went wild and dealt a high sounding slap on Bianca Ojukwu, widow of the revered Igbo leader, Dim Ikemba Chukwumeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, over some irreconcilable differences.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) correspondent who was at  scene of the event reports that the incident occurred immediately after Soludo took his oath of office.

NAN reports that dignitaries, including ExGov Willie Obiano, were already seated when Mrs Obiano stepped in and moved to the front row where the widow of Dim Odumegwu Ojukwu was seated and slapped her.

The action drew the attention of security agents and some personalities who pulled Mrs Obiano off the hold of Bianca who was visibly shocked at the action.

Meanwhile, reactions have begun to pour in on the shameless action of the ex-governor’s wife, with citizens calling for punitive action against the former First Lady.

Reno Omokri, a popular human rights activist, describing the action as irredeemably shameful, said the worst thing for the First Lady to have done was not exercising restraint in public, to have barred her fangs against Mrs Ojukwu in the public – and therefore, should be rewarded with merciless punitive measure(s).

The activist reacted via his official Facebook page, describing the ex-First Lady’s action as bestial.

Bianca Ojukwu herself, waxing philosophical, expressed the optimism that the end of Ebele Obiano’s First Ladyship will put Anambra in a better position henceforth.

She tagged March 17,2022 a ‘Liberation Day,’ especially as the incoming Governor Chukwuma Soludo remains a member of the ruling All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA)

“It’s a Liberation Day and we sing Redemption Song. Anambra will be better,” she wrote on her popular Facebook page./ SHARE THIS
