Governor Badaru Abubakar of Jigawa State has flagged off his gubernatorial campaign in Guri local government area of the state with a pledge to consolidate upon achievements recorded by his APC led administration in the last three and half years.

Addressing a mammoth APC rally, the governor informed the people that his government has fulfilled its social obligations, notably in areas of road construction, rural transformation and re-invigoration of the state health sector.

Others include women and youth empowerment in areas of provision of gainful employment under different government policies and programmes.

“I am pleased to inform you that we have fulfilled our campaign promises. I will like to assure you more dividends of democracy if you re-elected us back to office,” he said.

He commended the people for overwhelming reception and support for the APC and asked for more commitments for the success of the party in the forth-coming 2019 general elections.

During the procession, no fewer than 2,013 (two thousand and thirteen) members of Green Party of Nigeria, GPN, PDP, among other parties announced their defection to the ruling APC.

Speaking while receiving the defectors, Director General, Badaru Campaign Council, Alh. Ahmad Mahmud stated that the defectors dumped their former parties due to failed structure of leadership, focus and directions.

At Hadejia, Governor Badaru enjoined APC members to be law abiding for peaceful conduct of the polls.
