Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun on Monday visited areas devastated by flood in Abeokuta, the state capital.
Accompanied by his deputy, Alhaja Noimot Salako-Oyedele; Speaker of Ogun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon Olakunle Oluomo; the Head of Service, Engr. Lanre Bisiriyu, Permanent Secretary of Works, Engr. Ademolake and other top government functionaries, the visit took him to Odo Gbangba, Isale Oja, Kuto and Ijeja to assess the extent of devastation.
The Governor who assured residents of the affected areas of government’s willingness to bring succor their way also promised that government was set to find a lasting solution to the problems that has been a reoccurring event in those areas.
He however called on residents to desist from throwing refuse into the water ways and make the drainages and waterways free of debris.
