Galadanchi, Edgal, Pai, others, among new AIGs in gale of 20,356 senior police officers promotion by PSC

A total of 20,356 senior Police officers, including nine Commissioners of Police (CPs) and nine Deputy Commissioners (DCPs) have been promoted to their next rank by the Police Service Commission (PSC) to beef up the operations and management of the force.

Revealing this Thursday, in a statement, PSC Head of Press and Public Relations, Ikechukwu Ani, said: the promotion was one of the decisions of the 11th Plenary Meeting of the commission held in Abuja on Wednesday, January 25, 2021, and presided over by its Chairman, IGP Musiliu Smith (rtd.).

Ani said the commission also approved the promotion of three Chief Superintendents of Police (CSPs) to their next rank of Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPs), while 1,577 Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs) were elevated to Superintendents of Police (SPs); and 2,293 Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASPs) to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSPs).

He said the commission also approved the promotion/confirmation of 7,283 unconfirmed ASP11 to ASP1; 9,072 Inspectors to ASP11; and 110 Inspectors to Senior Inspectors.

He listed the new AIGs to incude: former CP Kwara and Bayelsa state, former Force Quarter Master General and currently the Executive Secretary, the Police Multi Purpose Cooperative Society, Lagos, Aminu Saleh Pai; former CP/Executive Secretary, the Police Multi Purpose Cooperative Society, Lagos and presently acting AIG, Force CID Annex, Lagos, Dasuki Danbappa Galadanchi; former CP Benue and Abia states, CP SARS and currently CP Explosive Ordinance Disposal, (EOD) Force Headquarters, Okon Etim Ene; and former CP Akwa Ibom State Command and presently CP Anambra state, Abang B. John.

Others are former CP, Airport Command, Lagos and currently CP Rivers State, Joseph Gobum Mukan; former CP Kaduna and Kogi states, and currently CP, Sokoto State, Aji Ali Janga; CP Benue State, Mukaddas Mohammed Garba; former CP, IGP Monitoring Unit; CP Intelligence, Force Headquarters and CP Bauchi State and presently CP Kano State, Habu Sani Ahmadu; and former CP Lagos and Akwa Ibom States, Imohimi D. Edgal.

The nine DCPs promoted to CPs include: Abubakar Adamu Alhaji, presently DCP Operations, Rivers State, Benjamin Nebolisa Okolo, currently at the National Defence College, Abuja; Abdul-Yari Laffia Shuyamu, presently DCP, Finance and Administration, Taraba State Command; Oyediran Adesoye Oyeyemi, DCP State CIID Ebonyi; Samaila Shu’aibu Dikko, DCP State CIID Adamawa and Jimwan David Dazong, DCP Zonal CIID, Zone 12 Bauchi.

Others are Monday Bala Kuryas, DCP Operations, Ondo State; Hussaini Rabiu, DCP, Operations, Imo State and Rabi Umar, former Assistant Force Secretary and presently DCP, Force Education, Force Headquarters, Abuja.

The PSC spokesman also named the three Chief Superintendents of Police promoted to Assistant Commissioners of Police to include: Gotom Tijani Richard, Joseph Kaide O, and Giade Sabo Abubakar.

Some of the DSPs promoted to SPs are: Ani Gospel Obichi, Federal Intelligence Bureau, Zone 7 headquarters, Abuja; Rabe Lawal, Zone 1 Kano; Ibrahim Abubakar, Operations, Force Headquarters, Abuja; Mbachi Raluchukwu, DCO, Ikirike Police Station, Enugu; and former PPRO, FCT and currently at the CP Monitoring and Mentoring Unit FCT Command, Anjuguri Jesse Manza.

Conveying the special message of the PSC boss, Ani said the Chairman had urged the newly promoted officers to see their new positions as a call to more commitment to duty, expressing the commission’s assurance ontime promotions based on the relevant rules and regulations.
