The Federal Ministry of Education (FME) and the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) are stepping up their engagements with State Governments for improved basic education delivery, especially in the area of the provision of model infrastructure and improvement of access to UBE opportunities through the Better Education Service Delivery for All (BESDA).

As part of efforts in this regard the  Minister of State for Education, Rt. Hon. Emeka Nwajiuba, in company of UBEC Executive Secretary, Dr. Hamid Bobboyi, UBEC Governing Board member representing the North East, Dr. Danjuma Dabo, National Programme Coordinator, Better Education Service Delivery for All (BESDA), Prof. Gidado Tahir and other FME and UBEC officials held discussions with the Executive Governor of Bauchi State, His Excellency, Senator Bala Mohammed at the Government house on Wednesday, September 5th, 2019.

The meeting which provided opportunity for the high ranking FME and UBEC officials to advocate for improved partnership and commitment of the State towards enhancing the utilization of available UBE interventions in the State is preparatory to the Ground Breaking ceremony of the UBEC North East Zonal Model School in Bauchi.

The  Minister of State for Education, Rt. Hon. Emeka Nwajiuba noted at the parley that Bauchi State has the capacity to project best standards to the North East in terms of quality basic education delivery.

The Governor and other State officials present at the parley expressed delight over Federal Government’s renewed interest in the provision of inclusive and quality education in the country. The Governor restated the State’s commitment to providing the necessary political will and resources to actualize its dreams for improved basic education service delivery.

He further reaffirmed the resolve of the current Bauchi administration to provide regional leadership in exemplifying best practices in effective Federal-State partnership for quality UBE delivery.
