Murder suspects who allegedly committed crimes in Katsina and Lagos States but ran to Kwara for cover have been arrested by the police.
Parading them before newsmen in Ilorin, the State Commissioner of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, said the two suspects, Jamiu Suleiman killed his friend and seized his truck in Lagos.
Also, Adamu Bawa who is a specialist in kidnapping in Kastina was arrested after running down to Ilorin for cover.
Egbetokun added that a group of 16 people were also arrested in Egbejila in Ilorin after causing mayhem and inflicted matchet cuts a police officer who went there to restore order.
The Police Commissioner assured people of the State that all the suspects would be charged to court as soon as investigations were completed.
He noted that those that ran to Ilorin from Kastina and Lagos would be transferred to states that have jurisdictions to hear their cases.
Doing an appraisal of the Kwara State Command under him in 2019, the Police Commissioner disclosed that a total number of 275 cases of crimes were arrested and prosecuted. He thanked the media for making the command to succeed during the year.
In an interview with newsmen, Suleiman said he killed his friend with a gun he bought from a cult member (names withheld) at Ikorodu area, Lagos.
He added that he killed his friend who was popularly known as ‘Baba Oyin’ because they were business partners and he was envious of his friend’s success and the truck that his friend.
