Sixteen members of the Adesina Likoyi family of Moloko Ashipa in Obafemi-Owode Local Government Area of Ogun State have disowned their kinsman, Oba Nureni Nosiru, and asked Governor Dapo Abiodun to replace him.

Nosiru was among the 75 Baales upgraded to Coronet Obas by the immediate past governor of the state, Ibikunle Amosun, towards the end of his administration.

The new administration in the state recently set up a committee to review such appointments and promotions carried out by ex governor Amosun.

The Adesina Likoyi family in a petition signed by the 16 members, addressed to the State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, dated June 1, 2019, said the emergence of Oba Nosiru was unknown to them as members of the family.

The aggrieved members of the family said, Oba Nosiru was not the choice of the family and that the family was caught unaware of his choice as the Coronet Oba in the town.

The family, however, insisted, “We were unaware of how he was selected and the yardstick used without carrying us along. Even, the head of the family, Pa, Oguntoyinbo Alabi Adesina, was in the dark until we watched on TV when the imposter was given a certificate at the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs.

“Likewise, fourteen family members rejected him during two meetings with Olu of Orile Igbore, Oba, Adeogun Ogunbona, at his residence in Adigbe on April 4, 2019, and later at his palace on April 11, 2019.

“We already have the person God has chosen for us as Oba of Moloko Ashipa who is Chief Abraham Adesina and we pray that this imposition should not lead to war .”
