The State Online equally gathered that the private hospital where the patient was treated did not also belong to the late Dr Emeka, but to a church (name withheld).

What was more, it was learnt that the late doctor was invited to the hospital to help take delivery of a pregnant and not to treat a sick patient.

A reliable  source who spoke with The State Online on the matter said “the late Dr Chugbo Emeka was an Obstetrics and Gynecology (O& G) specialist of many years standing. He was invited by a colleague on duty at a clinic belonging to a church to help take delivery of a pregnant woman. The COVID-19 status of the pregnant woman was not disclosed to him. It was wrong as been peddled in the media that he admitted a COVID-19 positive patient to his hospital and was treating her privately.”

The source added that “ Dr Emeka was not a careless person, he was just a victim of circumstances. He was invited by a professional colleague whom he trusted to help take delivery of a pregnant woman. Although the woman died of COVID-19 and Dr Emeka also died of the virus, but to the glory of God, the child is alive.”
