
Eko Electricity Distribution Company has received the award for the Most Improved Human Resources process through the implementation of the Human Resource Information System at the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management Awards Night. The event took place at the Eko Hotel & Suites on Thursday, December 12.
Eko Disco was awarded a commendation for their efforts towards improvement of HR practices and outstanding performance in personnel management in the power sector, citing some achievements of the company since the defunct PHCN era. While thanking the organisers of the award, Chief Human Resources Officer, Aik Alenkhe praised the EKEDC team for contributing in no small measure towards the recognition.
The award categories were HR Best Practice Awards, HR Optimisation Awards, and best Essay Competition Awards. Some of the other recognitions of the night went to; Nigeria Liquified Natural Gas Limited, Nigeria Bottling Company, Lagos State Government, Gokada, Stanbic IBTC, Cadbury Nigeria Plc and outstanding entries in the Essay Competition with Offor Olubebe Christopher emerging as the winner.
In attendance were heavyweights HR practitioners and delegates of participating companies. Mr Olu Onakoya, Former Chairman/Managing Director of Mobile Oil Nigeria Plc embodied his role as the Special Guest of Honor with an inspiring speech about the transition of HR practices in the modern age.
