Worried by recurring cases of rape, the Ekiti State Government on Friday commenced the naming and shaming of offenders of sexual abuses.
The first person in the hall of infamy is Rev. Asateru Gabriel, formerly of St. Andrew’s Anglican Church, Ifisin-Ekiti.
A widely circulated flier by the state’s Ministry of Justice indicated that Gabriel is currently serving a five-year prison term for “sexual abuse and exploitation” of a seven-year old girl.
The flier further stated that his name had been entered into the ministry’s sex offenders’ register.
