A 53-year-old pastor, Siva Moodley, who promised followers and family members he would resurrect if he eventually dies, actually died over one year ago, and is still immobile in the mortuary, with mammoth followers and family still waiting for his resurrection since August 15,2021.

The founder of The Miracle Centre in the north of Johannesburg, South Africa, died on 15 August, 2021 after falling ill, and was deposited at Gauteng mortuary in the city, but nearly 400 days after passing on, he still remains stone cold. Precisely, the said cleric has spent 13 months in the mortuary.
Moodley who had a legion of followers, both domestically and internationally, was revered amongst the religious community for a set of supposed ‘miracles’ he performed while alive, The South African media outlet reports.
Since his death nearly 400 days ago, the pastor has been lying lifeless inside Martins Funeral Home, with the morgue management being paid handsomely to keep the faith-based leader in their care – but even a cash flow of almost R60,000 (about N1.5 million) is starting to wear thin.
Martin du Toit who runs the funeral home, recently told IOL that he’s seeking approval from the courts to either burn or cremate the body. Indeed, it seems even the pastor’s most ardent supporters have given up on a resurrection as Moodley has had no visitors within the last 12 months.
Amazingly, Moodley’s church has not acknowledged his death on their social media platforms, even as the pastor’s social media accounts, most notably Twitter, are still operational – and Tweets are posted every day as if they were from him. Services are being live-streamed on social media up till today, with sermons conducted by his wife and son.
