CYDNN greets Muslims for witnessing Ramadan

Foremost non governmental organisation, Community and Youth Development National Network (CYDNN) has congratulated Muslims on the ongoing Ramadan fast.

In a congratulatory message signed by Prof. Siraj Abdulkarim, National Chairman, the group said: The Board of patrons, National Executive Council and the entire members of the CYDNN, congratulate the Muslim Ummah for witnessing the blessed month of Ramadan 1441 AH.

“This year’s Ramadan is unique because it is coming amidst the Corona virus pandemic where by most of the Ramadan rituals would not hold Globally. The Muslim Ummah should therefore consider the current world wide lockdown during Ramadan to be an opportunity for sober reflections, move closer to Allah (SWA) seek for his forgiveness and mercies over our sins, shortcomings and mistakes.

“We are using this medium to appeal to the muslim ummah to most respectfully adhere strictly to the directives of His Eminence the Sultan of Sokoto and the fatwas of other erudite Islamic scholars on observing some of the Ramadan rituals at home during this Covid-19 pandemic. In other word, we should observe social/physical distancing. We urge you to cooperate with the authorities at the national, state and local levels.

“We are also calling on the philanthropist individuals, cooperate bodies and the government at all levels to do more in the palliative measures to the needy in this sacred month.

“Finally, we pray to Allah SWA to blessed, have mercy and free us from this diminutive and deadly virus, armed bandits/kidnappers and Boko haram insurgency. Wassalamu Alaikum.”
