COVID-19: Nigeria confirms 338 new cases, total now 5,959

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 338 new cases of the novel coronavirus in the country by yesterday May 17.
The agency said that the 338 new cases were spread across 18 states. A breakdown Lagos recorded 177 new cases, Kano 64, Abuja 21, Rivers with 16, Plateau and 14, Oyo 11. Katsina recorded 9, Jigawa 4, Kaduna 4, Abia 3, Bauchi 3, Borno 3, Gombe 2, Akwa Ibom 2, Delta 2 Ondo 1, Kebbi 1 and Sokoto 1.
A total of 5,959 confirmed COVID-19 cases have now been recorded in 34 states and Abuja.
The number of discharged patients is 1,594 while fatalities stand at 182.
