COVID 19 : Jigawa Says use of face mask, hand sanitizer compulsory

Governor Mohammed Badaru Abubakar has made  the use of face masks, among the use of other preventive measures compulsory to all categories of the state work force, and the entire citizens of Jigawa State  especially while participation in public functions as ways of controlling the spread of coronavirus across the state.
Similarly he directed the state Civil Servants  to continue the stay at home order for another two weeks beginning from Wednesday  the 6th May,  2020.
This was contained in a statement signed by the Jigawa State Head of the Civil Service, Alhaji Hussaini Ali Kila.
He said the  extension become necessary  as part of Government’s efforts  to stop further spread of COVID-19 pandemic in the State.
Alhaji Hussaini Ali  Kila commended Civil Servants in the State for their unflinching support and cooperation  on the work at  at home order.
The Head of Service urged the Civil Servants  and the general public in the State  to continue to observe social distancing, consistent washing of hands and application of sanitisers to prevent further spread of COVID-19 pandemic in the State.
This measures comes as a result of the slight increased in reported cases of the on going coronavirus indices where index rating has indicated there was over 32 reported cases out of which 23 are within Dutse metropolitans.
In a related development, a strange illness has claimed over fifty lives in four days in Hadejia local government area in jigawa state.
Commenting over the issues, the Council Chairman, Alh. Abdullahi Maikanti, dispel the rumour that the illness was unconnected with coronavirus symptoms, arguing most if the deaths have no access to Covid-19 rather old aged, and minor aliments which are very common.
According to him, based on our records ward by wards our records was fifty seven and not over 100 as earlier reported by the media.
Also speaking, the Hadejia General Hospital CMD, Dr. Abdullahi Namadi said as dar as we’re concern, we are yet to witness any significant death, adding based on our record, we record only 13 death from 1May to 5 May.
The death was not in connection with Convid-19 only on different illness such as high fever, Asna, among other illness, as said by the Hadejia CMD General Hospital..
He contended that most of the death have died as a result if chronic ulcer, while others have died of cardiac failure, old aged, among other minor and serious illness.
Dr. Namadi lamented how community of Hadejia council are less serious with hospital attendance especially in testing their medical fitness periodically to ensure the safety of their health status with the use of their four different testing Labs.
Meanwhile a five man investigative committee headed by Dr. Mahmud Abdulwahab was instituted by jigawa state government to ascertain the remote cause of the Hadejia mysterious deaths, and proper solution for future reoccurrence.
