Covid -19: Jigawa residents losing hope on state task force

Jigawa residents have started losing hope on the activities of the state task force against the covid-19 pandemic due to its look worm attitudes towards fighting against the illness as a result of unprecedented increase in cases of affected persons from 86 to 116 in one day.
Comrade Sabiu Malam-Madori wondered why most of the the state’s health facilities are in shambles in terms of  facilities, qualified doctors, medication, among others.

Also speaking, Shehu Garki lamented that most of our medical personnel’s are not professionally quip to handle coronavirus treatment, hence there is the need to accord them intensive training on technicalities of coronavirus, its prevention and control for them to render an efficient services.
Earlier the state chairman of the covid-19 task force Dr. Abba Zakari in press briefing has announced the reported cases of 33 additional cases of the pandemic while only 17 of them were traced to primary contacts.
Dr. Abba zakari who doubles as the state commissioner of health also said 16 out of the number were Almajiris that have been under isolation since their repatriation from Kano state in the past three weeks.
The total number of cases in the state stood at 116 while, according to the commissioner 60 Almajiris repatriated from Kansmn tested positive results in the high figure in the state while the remaining 56 were mostly patients discovered through contact tracings from initial victims.
He said out of the 17 new cases 8 are from Birnin Kudu, 2 are from Gwaram, 5 from Dutse and two from Ringim local government areas adding that the government is directing for a total lock down of Ringim emirate from Monday midnight as was done in all affected areas.
He said the state has concluded plans to establish it’s laboratory for the effective testing of cases of covid-19 across the state.
