No fewer than 76,402 poor and vulnerable households in Jigawa State are expected to benefit from the sum of N1,528,040,000 as conditional cash transfer of the Federal government initiatives.
Governor Muhammad Badaru Abubakar applauded the effort of the federal government in alleviating the suffering of the people as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The disbursement has commenced in Auyo, Kiyawa and Miga local government areas.
Meanwhile, in place of the school feeding program, individual families will receive raw food as Take Home rations, which would include rice, beans, vegetable and palm oil, Eggs, salt, and sugar.
Similarly, Governor Badaru expressed delight over the activities of the state task force on the fight against Covid-19.
Speaking during an unscheduled visit at the state NYSC orientation camp where beds expected to be distributed to the state emergency centres were kept, he assured the people of his government’s commitment to control and fight the spread of the pandemic.
“Even though we are not affected by Covid 19, I assure our community that government is committed to safeguard people’s health adequately as we are battle ready to control or even to eliminate the deadly illness to logical conclusion,” he said.
