Court Grants DSS Approval To Keep Sowore For 45 Days

A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja on Thursday granted the Department of State Services (DSS) 45 days to keep Omoyele Sowore.

Sowore, publisher of Sahara Reporters is the convener of the #RevolutionNow protest.

The approval granted DSS is to allow the agency conclude its investigation on the dealings of Sowore who was the Presidential candidate of the African Action Congress in the last general election.

The DSS had sought the court’s nod to keep Sowore in its custody for 90 days in order for it to have a thorough investigation.

Sowore was arrested in Lagos by the DSS in the wee hours of Saturday before being taken to the department’s headquarters in Abuja on Sunday.
