Jigawa State has announced an increase of 51 new Covid -19 cases and one fatality bringing the total number of confirmed cases in the state to 169, and 3 deaths recorded so far.
The commissioner of Health Dr Abba Zakari Confirmed this to newsmen at the NYSC orientation camp in Dutse.
Dr. Abba Zakari who is also the Chairman jigawa state Task Force on Covid-19 stated 31 of the new cases are almajirai that were repatriated from Kano state, which accounts for 56 percent of the total log of cases recorded in the state.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner assured that the state testing will commence soonest as they have already procured the equipment and have decided to use the Dutse General hospital’s laboratory for the testing.
