Indigene of Ikere Ekiti took laws into their hands by blocking the public highways two days ago, when  they suspected police complicity in the surreptitious entry of Coronavirus cases into the state.

Perhaps to avert a breakdown of law and order, the Amotekun corps were rolled out to stop people from entering the state without going through Convid -19 routine test.

“We have to protect our people from this pandemic. We confirmed that all the Convid – 19  cases were imported into the state. Yesterday the Ikere Ekiti people impounded a Punch Newspapers distribution van ferrying people into the state instead of bringing newspapers. We can’t keep looking while our peoples’ lives are endangered. We are doing this in conjunction with the Army ” revealed a senior Amotekun Corp member who spoke with our reporter.

” Remember the case of the Pregnant woman and the illegal importation of 5 people into the state through Ikere-Ekiti axis, meaning that our boundaries are porous, that is why we are here to man this place” he added
