Following a review of records and business activities of companies by the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), the Service, Monday, said it has become necessary to carry out further clarifications in respect of certain five companies.
A Public Notice signed April 19, 2021, by FIRS Executive Chairman, Mr. Muhammad Nami, listed the companies as follows: Blackbit Limited with RC No 1103159 and TIN 1709180-0001; Pay Day Lotteries Limited with RC No 989908 and TIN 11900671-0001; Raytan Limited with RC No 993668 and TIN 11651130-0001; New Gate Logistics Limited with RC No 1167807 and TIN 17795599-0001; and Give N Take Lottery Limited with RC No 1226630 and TIN 18080347-0001.
In the Public Notice entitled “REQUEST FOR FURTHER INFORMATION FROM THE UNDERLISTEDCOMPANIES,” Nami said, “In the light of the above, the aforementioned companies, their accredited representatives, or directors are requested to immediately contact the Service within thirty (30) days of this Notice to provide the required information in this regard,” noting that “failure to comply with this Notice will amount to a contravention of Section 26 of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (Establishment) Act, 2007 (as Amended) and upon which enforcement action and criminal prosecution may be taken accordingly.”
The FIRS boss used the forum to also remind all business entities to voluntarily register and file their tax returns at the nearest FIRS Office, “as the Service will commence the publication of the names of non-compliant companies for enforcement and criminal prosecution in line with the provisions of the relevant tax laws.”
