The Kwara State Government is putting in place, policies that will remove hindrances to establishing entrepreneurs in the state.
Commissioner for Finance and Planning, Florence Oyeyemi, disclosed this at a 2-Day workshop with the theme ‘Invigorating Public Procurement Process During Covid-19 Pandemic’.
To do this she said government is harmonising charges on businesses to reduce hardships attendant to setting up business interests and providing employments.
Also, government will formulate policies that would promote the development of small and medium enterprises to reduce unemployment in the state, she added.
The workshop was organised in collaborations with the state Public Procurement Agency aimed at ensuring ease of doing business in the state to the benefit of the people.
Oyeyemi also disclosed that government had put in place, special measures to assist small and medium scale business owners to facilitate funds to run their businesses.
She said the Public Procurement Act currently operating in the state would give business owners the opportunity to bid and carry out the processes if application online as a way of showing the commitment and seriousness of the government.
In his remarks, the Commissioner for Enterprise, Alhaji Femi Agbaje re-emphasized government’s determination to give all the supports required to ensure ease of doing business earlier promised.
He said the state government was particular in doing things differently to allow business to flourish as much as possible.
He called on people with diverse business ideas not to hesitate in making such ideas come the reality giving them an assurance that they would given solid assistance even when they do not who have the resources.
