A Sokoto-based cleric, Bello Yabo, has prayed for God’s mercy in granting the terrorists’ threat in kidnapping President Muhammadu Buhari, Gov Nasir el-Rufai of Kaduna State, Garba Shehu, Senior Special Assistant to President Buhari on Media and Publicity, for their insensitivity to the plight of captives of Kaduna-Abuja terrorists’ attack for several months now.
While praying for the terrorists, Yabo, however, appealed to them to release the innocent victims in their captivity, noting they were just ordinary citizens trying to make ends meet.
His statement reads: “I pray they kidnap you, Garba Shehu, so you’ll see the difference between reality and propaganda.
“On our own, we are praying for you kidnappers. May God grant you success in carrying out your threats to kidnap those people. But please, release the innocent victims in captivity.
The cleric’s prayer came against the backdrop of presidential spokesman, Garba Shehu’s reaction to the terrorists’ threat that their (terrorists) act of using propaganda and violence to force government to accept or submit to political demands is not new all over world.
Recall that the terrorists who kidnapped the Kaduna-Abuja train passengers, months ago, recently resorted to mercilessly flogging them in a video post for Government delaying in meeting up their demand, while threatening their next target will be President Buhari, Gov El-Rufai and other political bigwigs, to which the presidential spokesman, Garba Shehu, said their (terrorists) act of using propaganda and violence to force government to accept or submit to political demands is not new all over world.
To this, the cleric prayed, “if these were the kind of people you have been abducting all this while, we wouldn’t have bothered ourselves. We would have, instead, been praying and blessing you, because they have become a torn in our flesh.
“These are people who promised heaven and earth, and now they have the opportunity, they have turned incompetent. Please take them to the bush and flog them mercilessly, instead of humiliating innocent citizens,” he further prayed./SHARE THIS
