Say: “Our mumu don do, Give us a breathing space”
President Muhammadu Buhari, on Thursday, received an unexpected shocker in his home state of Katsina when his statesmen turned against him, booing him mercilessly during a two-day state visit to inaugurate some projects executed by the state government.

Buhari’s first day in the state was heralded by a protest by youths who lamented hardship in the country, saying “this is not the ‘Se Baba’ we knew who fought for the interest of common man.”
The youths staged the protest a few minutes after noon, shortly after the President had inaugurated the Kofar Kaura Underpass in Katsina, causing a commotion at the Kofar Kaura underpass where they threw stones at the crowd after Buhari had left the area.

A viral video showed a mass of youths violently denouncing the government as they engaged some policemen on the road.
Buhari had finished the ceremony and left when the youths stormed the underpass and started shouting, ‘bamuyi,’ ‘bamuyi’ (We are no longer interested.)
They also threw stones at the convoy of state government officials departing the project site for daring to bring the president to the state at this time of severe hardship.
The youths were subsequently dispersed with tear gas by security personnel, even as they said they were protesting the hardship in the country, adding that they wanted to draw the President’s attention to the situation.
One of the protesters declared: “ we are suffering; no job; no life; no money…absolutely nothing to show that our Baba is in charge.”/ SHARE THIS
