
President Muhammadu Buhari has nominated Mr. Bello Hassan as the new Managing Director/Chief Executive of the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC) to replace Alhaji Umaru Ibrahim, whose second and final tenure as the corporation’s MD/CEO expires tomorrow, December 8, 2020. Equally nominated for the corporation is Mr. Mustapha Muhammad Ibrahim, as Executive Director, to replace Prince Aghatise Eredieuwa, whose second term equally expires tomorrow, December 8.
This was disclosed in a letter the president just transmitted to the Senate President seeking their confirmation in line with Sections 5(4) and 8(3) of the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC) Act, 2010.
Meanwhile, Hon. Omolola Abiola Edewor, Executive Director (Corporate Services), whose second and final tenure ends on January 24, 2022, will stay put in that capacity till due date, the president’s letter specified.
In another development, the president also transmitted a letter to the Senate President renominating Mr. Ahmed Kuru as Managing Director of the Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON) and Mr Eberechukwu Uneze and Mr Aminu Ismail as Executive Directors, respectively, of the corporation for the final term of five years.
This was was similarly contained in the president’s letter seeking confirmation of the nominees by the Upper Chamber in line with Section 10(1) of the Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON) Act, 2010.
