President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed Deputy Inspector General of Police Usman Alkali Baba as the Acting Inspector General of Police.
The appointment was announced today by Maigari Dingyadi, Police Affairs Minister.

Alkali Baba’s appointment terminated the three-month extension of the tenure of Mohammed Abubakar Adamu as IGP on February 4.
The Acting IGP holds a Master’s in Public Administration (MPA) and a BA (ED) in Political Science. He is a fellow of the National Defence College and a member of the International Association of Chiefs of Police.
