Breaking: Buhari set to appoint AIG Abubakar Adamu Mohammed as new IG of Police

President Muhammed Buhari is set to appoint AIG Abubakar Adamu Mohammed as the acting Inspector General of Police.
Mohammed, from Lafia, Nasarawa State is expected to succeed Ibrahim Idris, whose tenure as Inspector General of Police expires Tuesday, January 15.
Idris was at the Presidential Villa on Monday afternoon on what a government source described as a farewell visit to president Buhari.
Born on November 9, 1961, Abubakar Adamu Mohammed, popularly called Adamu Mohammed Lafia enlisted in the police in 1986.
He was at one time a director of peacekeeping operations and a former police commissioner in Enugu State.
As AIG Mohammed who was in charge of Zone 5 holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Geography.
He is currently a directing staff member at the National Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies, Kuru, near Jos, Plateau State.
