Borno Gov -Elect, Prof Zulum Unviels Development Plan

The Borno State Governor-elect, Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum has unfolded a
development plan for south senatorial district.
The district comprises nine councils of Chibok, Damboa, Biu, Gwoza,
Kwaya/Kusar, Shani, Askira/Uba and Bayo, 277 kilometres south of
Maiduguri.
Zulum disclosed this Tuesday in Maiduguri, while addressing the people
of southern Borno on his victory at the polls.
He said that it was God’s will that enabled him win the governorship election.
While thanking Governor Kashim Shettima that led All Progressive
Congress (APC) win election, Prof. Umara said: “I’m also grateful to
members of National and State House of Assemblies from southern Borno,
including state, council and ward party chairmen to win this election.
“What I want you to understand is that; the eight-year Shettima
administration; has not ended, but a continuous process.
“This administration is not a new one. I’ve been elected as Governor
to continue from where Shettima stopped,” he said.
While unfolding the plan yesterday, Umara said: “I want to tell you
one thing. We will go and visit each of nine Local Government Areas in
southern Borno and sit down with their Stakeholders to produce a
development plan.”
According to him, the Stakeholders Development Plan (SDP) is how to
fast track the development process of southern Borno state.
He said the development plan will address the major problems facing
the people living in affected councils.
Speaking on his election, he said: “If Governor Shettima did not work
for the people, they will not re-elect the administration for another
four-year term in office.
“We ensure that the most important thing is to work for the people
that elected us,” he noted.
He said that the villagers’ benefits of democracy; are highly expected
from the elected leaders.
He urged the people to assist the administration with prayers to
deliver the dividends of democracy and good governance.
According to him, the prayers will enable credible and efficient
commissioners, advisers and council chairmen to be appointed into
administration.
