Borno State Deputy Governor, Hon Usman Mamman Durkwa has paid visits to various hospitals to sympathize with people who sustained injuries and were admitted for treatment after the devastating collapse of a stand/pavilion during last Monday’s Presidential Campaign/rally at the Ramat Square Maiduguri.

Durkwa while speaking to Journalists on Tuesday after visiting various Hospitals including State Specialists Hospital in Maiduguri said more than 70 injured victims out of over 100 have been fully treated and discharged.
He however regretted that one of the victims died in his presence at the State Specialist Hospital on Monday evening during the visit.

“It is unfortunate that some of our party supporters and die hearts of President Muhammadu Buhari encountered an incident as a result of a collapse stand during the rally at Ramat Square on Maiduguri.
” On behalf of Governor Kashim Shettima who had to travelled alongside Mr. President to Abuja for the National Council of State Meeting, we visited the hospitals to condole/sympathize with the victims and their families/ relations.
“It is our prayer that God will grant eternal rest to the soul of the deceased, while the injured ones have quick recovery.

” As government, we will ensure that we assist in no small measure to ensure that those still in admission have proper medical treatment. ” Durkwa said.
