The Caretaker Chairman of Hawul Local Government Area, Hon. Daniel Malang on Tuesday commended the Borno State Governor, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum for giving Executive approval for reconstruction of dilapidated Biu-Shaffa- Garkida federal highway that has been neglected in the past 30 years.
Malang specifically said, the ongoing construction of feeder roads, classroom blocks, staff quarters and hospitals/clinics in various communities of Pama, Kwajaffa, Sakwa and Marama among others which have reached advanced stages by the present administration is highly commendable by all lovers of Democracy in the state.
The Caretaker Chairman stated this while addressing newsmen on the achievements put in place in his Council by the new administration in shortest period of time.
According to him, the reconstruction of classroom blocks and staff quarters at the Government Secondary schools Sakwa and Marama towns, as well as some primary schools in other communities would not only uplift the standard of education, but have provided job opportunities to the people at the grassroots.
His words: ” I am very glad and remain thankful to our new governor Professor Zulum for consolidating on the gains of his predecessor, former Governor Kashim Shettima who have invested heavily in the education, health and agricultural sector in Hawul.
“It would interest you to know that governor Zulum has approved contract for numerous people oriented projects not only in Hawul, but in almost all the 27 Local Government Areas across the state.
“In Hawul alone, within the shortest time you have seen the kind of transformations taking place, we are very grateful to His Excellency, Professor Zulum particularly the approval he gave for the immediate reconstruction of Biu-Shaffa-Garkida -Gombi federal highway.
“We are also grateful to the Government and the people of the state for the peaceful atmosphere we enjoyed in Hawul which led to the smooth execution of these numerous projects which cut across the Education, Health and agricultural sectors.
“We are appealing to our people especially those at the grassroot level to give their maximum support to the present administration that is fully committed to plights of the citizenry”. Maland stated.
