The monarch and paramount ruler of Igala kingdom, His Royal Majesty Michael Ameh Oboni II, is dead. The Attah Igala as he was popularly called, died this morning, Thursday, August 27, at Wada Hospital, Abuja, a grapevine confirmed.
The grapevine who did not disclose the cause of his death or his age, simply said he died after a brief illness.
Until his death, the Royal Majesty was the Chairman of Kogi State Council of Traditional Rulers, ruling the entire Igala land from his palace in Idah, the ancestral home of all Igala nationalities.
Meanwhile, no official confirmation has been released about his death from either the Kogi State Government or his Idah Ancestral Palace.
The highly competent source hinted that the announcement of his death will herald a great deal of clandestine preparation as is the custom of the ancestral lineage of the Igala kingdom
