Coordinator of the group, Idrissa Adamu Nguru stated this yesterday in a press statement he signed and issued to our Correspondent on Friday 22nd February, 2019.

The statement reads in parts: “We the concerned APC Members of Yobe State  have just received the news of the defection of the PDP Chairman of Yobe State, M. Sani Inuwa Nguru to the APC.

“Of course it is a welcome development for the APC in our dear state especially if the defection is done with a good intention. But unfortunately, it is NOT. This is because it was not done in consultation with either the Nguru Local Government leadership of our great party, or the Yobe State APC Stakeholders.

“It was arranged by only two former PDP members who have just decamped to the APC for questionable reasons.  Rather than truly coming to Yobe to renounce their allegiance to PDP having being in the opposition to out party for a long time,  they chose to in clandestine manner, headed to Mr President through Mallam Adamu Adamu,  Minister of Education.

“This, to us breached all known mode of political alignment or realignment. Worse, was that the realignment was done few days to elections, a clear manifestation that they are political merchandise in search of the goose eggs.

“This fake defection is already fueling misunderstandings and disaffection within the APC family in the State. In 2015, the same Sani Inuwa  few days to the Presidential Election, decamped to PDP. Now again he says he has decamped to APC, a case of many defections in less than four years! How sincere is this?

“One thing that make this decamping questionable is the process and also the fact that his son, whom Mal. Sani sponsored, still remain the PDP candidate for the State Assembly election, contesting against our party’s candidate.

“How sincere is this? Sadly one would have expected Adamu Adamu to mind his business and concentrate on the politics in his home State, Bauchi but he has been interfering and these have started causing disaffection among APC members in our state. The Same Adamu Adamu influenced the appointment of a PDP card-carrying member, Dr Lawan Yahuza as Chairman of the Federal University, Gashua,  Yobe State against the interest of the State APC members who worked for the success of the Party in 2015.

“Is Sani Nguru looking for a hiding place to hide his alleged involvement in the Dasukigate? Certainly the APC doesn’t have a space for such!

His intent and purpose in the politics of Yobe still remains uncleared except the general perception that he wants to cause disaffection.”
