Former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir David Lawal, in company with former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, have met with the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike.
The meeting was held at Rumuepirikom, the country home of Wike in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State.
While Lawal and Dogara are top chieftains of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Wike belongs to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
Both Lawal and Dogara, who are Christians of Northern extraction, have spoken about the decision of APC to fly a Muslim-Muslim ticket for the 2023 presidential election.
Former Governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, is the presidential flag bearer of the party while a former Governor of Borno State, Senator Kashim Shettima, is his running mate.
Wike is not pleased with the outcome of the presidential primaries of the party, won by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.
Also, he is unhappy with the choice of Delta State Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, above him for the vice-presidential ticket.
He has also expressed grouse with the interview Abubakar granted on the outcome of the presidential primaries and why Wike was not chosen as his running mate.
But Lawal, who spoke with newsmen after the meeting with Wike, said the meeting was just a brotherly visit.
He said it was part of the agenda setting to build an all-inclusive Nigeria.
