Says: “HIS ONLY INTENTION TO EXPOSE ME TO PUBLIC RIDICULE, ODIUM AND DISREPUTE
Apostle Johnson Suleman, General Overseer, Omega Fire Ministries International, is presently fighting like a wounded lion after being accused by his estranged church pastor of sleeping with his (estranged pastor’s) wife. Just this week, he sued the complaining pastor, Mike Davids, at the Lagos State High Court, Ikeja, demanding N5bn damages from him, for an act intended to expose him to public ridicule, odium and disrepute.

In the said suit, Suleman, particularly, accused Davids of “conspiracy to blackmail and malign him in the estimation of right thinking members of the society and defamation of character.”

Giving details of the brouhaha between the two men of God, in a statement, weekend, Suleman’s lawyer, Osa Director, said Davids was expelled from the ministry in 2018 for “acts inimical to the body of Christ,” and has since been attempting to blackmail his erstwhile General Overseer, Apostle Suleman.

He said: “It has come to our knowledge that one Mike Davids has purportedly filed a law suit against our client, Apostle Johnson Suleman, and seeking N2 billion as damages for alleged interference in his marriage which has since been dissolved a few years ago.

“We are yet to be served with any court process. However, our client has refrained from joining issues with the said Mike Davids as his utterances are mere hallucinations.

“For the records, Mike Davids was a pastor in our client”s church but expelled since 2018 for acts inimical to the body of Christ. He has, for the past six years, been attempting to blackmail Apostle Suleman,” he added, stressing that he (Davids) “constantly threatened and boasted that he has materials in his possession to embarrass Apostle Suleman with, and his recent video allegations is just one of such materials and tools of blackmail.”

Osa Director continued: “In short, he has been boasting that he will bring down Apostle Suleman and Omega Fire Ministries, of which our client has audio and video evidence to expose his threats and blackmail.

“The matter was reported to the Nigerian Police Force and consequently, the Inspector General of Police has approached the Federal High Court in Abuja in suit No: FHC/ABJ/CS/115/2021 seeking the arrest and detention of the said Mike Davids.

“Also, Apostle Suleman is instituting a lawsuit against Mike Davids at the Lagos State High Court in Ikeja seeking N5 billion damages for conspiracy to blackmail and defamation of character. As believers in the rule of law and judiciary, we hope justice will be served, and clearly so, at the end of the day.”

Recall that Mike Davids had recently accused Apostle Suleman of hypnotising and committing adultery with his wife, Pastor Faith Edeko, who is also a supervising pastor in Omega Fire Ministries International in charge of its Utako branch in Abuja.

He had earlier filed his own suit against Apostle Suleman and the church for N2 billion, for purportedly meddling in his marriage, apart from also sending a petition to the Inspector General of Police alleging threat to his life and denial by Suleman to have access to his three children.

In his suit, Davids is seeking an order of perpetual injunction restricting Apostle Suleman, the church and their agents or privies from having access or relating with his wife and three children.

He is also seeking “an award of punitive and exemplary damages to the tune of N2 billion against the defendant for unlawful interference with his contract of marriage and the cost of N2 million being the cost of prosecuting this action before this Honourable Court.”

Following Davids’ petition to police high command, the IGP had allegedly waded into the matter through a memo, CB:7000/IGP/SEC/ABJ/Vol.515/561 addressed to the Deputy Inspector General, Force Intelligence Bureau, Garki dated January 5, 2021 ordering him to look into the matter. The memo was signed by the Principal Staff Officer 11 to the Inspector General of Police, ACP Iliya Doma. Although nothing has been heard of it again, as at the time of Suleman’s defamation suit in Lagos.

Meanwhile, the plaintiff’s wife, Pastor Faith Edeko, has denied Davids’ allegations, describing it as a tale by the moonlight and a figment of his own imagination./SHARE THIS
