Indeed, the mother of four who is also Nigeria’s wealthiest woman, is said to have separated from her husband with little hope of reconciliation.

Sources indicated the couple had had to struggle with the over four decades’ marriage having had frequent squabbles which allegedly necessitated the wealthy woman to demand utmost privacy in her home.

Indications are that her husband, Modupe, is now forced to seek accommodation elsewhere, allegedly living alone within the same Ikoyi neighbourhood.

The couple is said to have put up a united front because of their status in the society in the last few years, which now climaxed in their present separation.

Not that family and friends have not tried to settle the marriage squabbles, but all the efforts have come to not.

During the wedding of one of their children, the squabbles were well patched, especially from prying eyes of the media. Evidence that this was managed was that no media reported the cracks in the Alakijas’ marriage.

The planning of the wedding was on based on special invitation and guests who got the invitations were carefully scrutinized.
