All things being equal, the Supreme Court of Nigeria will be delivering substantive judgment on cash swap policy of the Federal Government, March 3, 2023. This is particularly in suit jointly filed by aggrieved APC governors of Kaduna, Kogi and Zamfara States in which they sought stoppage of the February 10 deadline against the naira swap policy of the Federal Government.

A nine-member panel led by Justice John Okoro announced the substantive judgement date after taking final arguments from lawyers to parties in the case.

The Supreme Court had, on Wednesday, February 15, adjourned hearing in the suit filed by Kaduna, Kogi and Zamfara States against the Federal Government seeking a restraining order to stop the full implementation of the naira redesign policy of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) until February 22.

Earlier before then, the apex court had granted an interim order restraining the FG and CBN from going ahead with their February 10 deadline for stripping the old naira notes of their legal tender status./SHARE THIS
