52 rescued in collapsed Lagos school building, officials keep mum on casualty figure

Fifty two primary school pupils are said to have been rescued from the collapsed building at Ita faji area of Lagos Island housing a school.

The three-storeyed building collapsed around 10am on Wednesday. Baden school was on the last floor while the lower floors were residential.

The school reportedly had over 100 pupils.

An official at the scene said the number of people that lost their lives were being kept confidential until the rescue mission would be nearing completion.

Officials of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, LASEMA, officers of the Rapid Respond Squad (RRS) and other rescue agencies are on ground to rescue victims.
